Yesterday I saw a saying on the street: “I can’t go back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.” I tried to rap my mind around it – but couldn’t really understand it. When I opened my heart to the breath in the moment, and had compassion for my lack of understanding, I had a different sense of understanding. “I can’t go back to yesterday because in time, in my mind, I was a different person then, but when I follow the pace of the breath, and open my heart, I can have compassion for my perception of who I was yesterday, and connect to who I am now. Who I am now, includes and is inseparable from who I was yesterday. That’s why it’s called the present. The gift of being human, is the ability to transform misery & oppression from yesterday to joy oxygen & ease – now. (MOJOE)
If there is anything to take care of all the time, it is re-membering who you are. Because when you don’t re-member who you are, you are stuck in your head, disconnected from the simple joy of being alive, from unconditional love, from the wisdom of your heart. You’re suffering the deepest pain of being human – the pain of being unhappy with yourself. The purpose of life is being happy. Unhappy people are not only a hazard to themselves, they spread unhappiness in the world. I doubt that Hitler was happy with himself. I’m yet to meet anyone who is happy with herself and who creates a mess in the world.
Each moment, and with every breath, take care of yourself. Re-member who you are. Pay loving attention. Open your heart to the breath and follow and it’s pace. Generate compassion to yourself.
Be love & celebrate your life now.
