It’s wonderful when people who haven’t seen you in a while say – “You look great”, but then when they ask “What do you do to look so good?”, how easy is it to say – “It’s my genes”, “it’s my gym workout” or “it’s my diet”, when deep inside you know that it’s something else, but you don’t dare to say it. “It’s my spiritual daily practice that keeps me looking good, even when I don’t feel so good”.
The point of having a spiritual daily practice is paying open-hearted attention to your life experience & transforming it if it’s miserable & oppressive. Breathing~love, and paying compassionate attention to your body, emotions, thoughts & breath. It’s what’s called meditation. My daily practice is done in stillness, movement & music. Generating compassion particularly to experiences I judge myself for or criticize others about. Focusing on the process more than on the expected result, and being present. Feeling joy, oxygen & ease as away of life rather than a technique. Daily practicing living in a scared manner & in celebration.
Brain science today calls it “Rewiring your brain.” For some of us this is a no brainer. We know that we can’t afford to spend too much time or energy in negative, stressful inner-talk because it can escalate into depression & suicide. I’m committed to a 24 x 7 practice, paying open-hearted attention to what’s happening inside, and transforming misery & oppression to joy, oxygen & ease. I like how it makes me feel, and notice that when I practice the fives steps of The BREAZE, I become clearer, more resilient and more responsible. I trust my life.
If you have a tendency to be hard on yourself, critical or judgmental, if you take care of others more than you take care of yourself, if when you lose something, or when things don’t go your way, you freak-out, snap, lose it and obsess about it, If you worry a lot, get negative and anxious, and are challenged with “high-maintenance” issues, developing and maintaining a daily practice is highly recommended, and I would like to help you.
