What do you think is happening in your country, or in the world today? How do you feel in your heart when you hear the President of the United States speak? Do you trust your reaction? In these moments, are you noticing your breath? Is it steady, flowing, and relaxed, or stressed, wound up, and held back? Do you find yourself stressing out when politics are mentioned, getting caught up in negativity & hatred? Or, do you open your heart, breathe with more ease, and have a heart for yourself, connecting 2 your Intelligent Compassion?
Paying attention, or ‘placing the heart’ in Hebrew, is a crucial skill—an art—in today’s complex and stressful world. Paying attention is the heart of meditation.
We are at a new impasse in an old revolution, but what we really need now is to further the evolution of love. Starting with ourselves, in our own lives. Being the change we want to see in the world. Being the ones we have been waiting for. Making our life matter.
Starting on Sunday, 1/29/2017, the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rooster, I invite you to join me on a “Journey with the Breath.” For 21 days I will practice the art of attention. I will let my breath guide me. Pay attention and notice daily when I am triggered by stress, negativity & hatred. For 21 days I promise to breathe love, and journal—free form—for a few minutes each day.
Won’t you join me and do this one, radical act of love each day? When we cultivate the skill of ‘placing the heart’ in attention, we choose to enact a different way of being in the world. This is the real revolution, the real evolution we need.
You’re invited to follow the pace of your breath, breathe love, and journal every day for the next 21 days. Share your stories and experiences with me during this time: firstname.lastname@example.org.
